Betting on Chelsea

Mauricio Pochettino handed his former team their first defeat of the season, with Chelsea recording a 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.

Nicolas Jackson starred for the Blues in that contest, scoring his first hat-trick in the Premier League, per The Guardian. He gave Chelsea the lead in the 75th minute, sliding a low shot past Guglielmo Vicario.

He added two more goals in injury time to finally break the resistance of Spurs, who were reduced to nine men after Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie received red cards.

They will look to make it back-to-back wins when they host Manchester City this coming Sunday. The Blues have struggled at Stamford Bridge, recording just five points out of their six home league matches thus far this season.

Their last league game there ended in a 2-0 defeat against Brentford.

Betting on Manchester City

Manchester City returned to the top of the Premier League table after crushing Bournemouth over the weekend.

The reigning champions recorded a 6-1 victory at their home ground, with Jeremy Doku, Bernardo Silva, Manuel Akanji, Phil Foden, and Nathan Ake the goal-scorers.

It was the Doku show last Saturday, with the Belgian winger having a hand in five of City's six goals.

He opened the scoring in the 30th minute, delivering a shot to the corner after playing a delightful one-two with Rodri. Doku then turned creator, recording four assists in the rout, per the BBC.

The victory came at a huge price for City, though, with Erling Haaland suffering an ankle injury.

The Norwegian striker lasted just 45 minutes in the win against Bournemouth after twisting his ankle. Manager Pep Guardiola hopes he will be fit for Sunday's clash against Chelsea.

The good news for City is that Haaland has returned to training ahead of their Champions League clash with Swiss side Young Boys.

City will fancy their chances against the Blues as they have fared extremely well against them of late. They have won their last six matches against Chelsea, with four of those victories coming in the Premier League.
