  • Before Saturday, only six players had recorded four assists in a single Premier League match in history
  • However, Jeremy Doku joined the exclusive group as he helped Manchester City hammer Bournemouth
  • Arsenal accounts for four of the seven names who achieved the feat in the history of the Premier League

Manchester City winger, Jeremy Doku was in the form of his life on Saturday, November 5, as the reigning champions hammered Bournemouth 6-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

Doku has enjoyed a fine start to life since he joined City in the summer from French side, Rennes.

According to Sky Sports, the Manchester side forked out an eyewatering £55.5 million to land the services of Doku on a five-year deal.

The Belgium international has gone on to be a big revelation at the Etihad, with Pep Guardiola seemingly preferring him over Jack Grealish.

The 21-year-old was the man of the moment when City hosted Bournemouth over the weekend, bagging a brace and four assists as City secured a 6-1 comfortable win.

The four assists earned Doku a place in an elite group of players who have registered as many assists in a single Premier League match.

Sports Brief takes a look at six other players who, like the Belgian, have previously bagged four assists in a single EPL game.

6. Dennis Bergkamp vs Leicester, 1999

The Arsenal legend was the first player to record four assists in a single Premier League game.

Bergkamp achieved the rare feat back in 1999 against Leicester City. The Gunners won the match 5-0, with Nicolas Anelka scoring a hat-trick.

5. Jose Antonio Reyes vs Middlesbrough, 2006

Reyes, another Arsenal legend, is the other player to have previously bagged a quartet of assists in one Premier League game.

While Thierry Henry scored a hat-trick in the 7-0 win for the north Londoners, Reyes emerged as the man of the moment.

4. Cesc Fabregas vs Blackburn, 2009

The Spaniard enjoyed an illustrious career in the Premier League with Chelsea and Arsenal. However, it was during his spell at the Emirates he made a name for himself as one of the most sought-after midfielders at the time.

In 2009, Fabregas recorded four assists against Blackburn Rovers to further cement his place as one of the best midfielders in the EPL of all time.

3. Santi Cazorla vs Wigan, 2013

On his day, Santi Cazorla was one fine midfielder.

While injuries took a huge toll on his career, he will be fondly remembered for his role in Arsenal's 4-1 win over Wigan Athletic back in 2013. The Spaniard was the architect for all four goals in the match.

2. Emmanuel Adebayor vs Newcastle, 2012

The Togolese football star was one of the best strikers in the Premier League a few years back.

Adebayor is best known for his eye for the back of the net, thanks to his impressive goal-scoring streak at Arsenal, Man City, and Tottenham Hotspur.

In 2012, he registered four assists for Spurs as the North Londoners beat Newcastle United 5-0.

1. Dusan Tadic vs Sunderland, 2014

GiveMeSport reports that the Serbian was the man of the moment when Southampton secured a historic 8-0 win over Sunderland back in 2014.

Tadic scored once and set up four other goals during the tie.

Guardiola sends message to Grealish over Doku

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Doku's performance at the weekend making a strong case for him to start ahead of Grealish against Young Boys in the UCL.

Guardiola has sent a clear message to the England international, urging him to be 'angry' and to keep the competition high for the treble-winners.
