The Brazilians levelled things up in the 74th minute after Abdelmounaim Boutouil scored from the penalty spot, but failed to hold on to a draw as Anas Serrhat scored the winner for the home side, according to a report by iDiskiTimes.

In an interview after the game, Sundowns' head coach, Mokwena claimed there is still a chance for his team to win the trophy and congratulated the home side for their win.

"Congrats to Wydad Athletic Club on the win, it’s only half-time," he said.
"Let me also congratulate my players for an incredible effort, and fighting spirit to come back and try very hard.

The Brazilians manager also explained why his team lost to the Moroccan side.

"Our attack was not as potent and aggressive, but okay we take the away goal and we move," he added.

The second leg of the tie will be at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium next week Sunday, November 12.
