Metro UK reports that Anthony Gordon's solitary goal was the only difference in the tie, as the hosts secured the three points.

Gordon'sdon's goal became the subject of intense discussion after the match, with a number of fans and pundits suggesting it should not have stood.

The ball had appeared to go out of play in the build-up to the forward finding the back of the net, while Gabriel had also been fouled moments earlier.

Raya lifts lid on Arsenal mood

Raya has now disclosed that the Arsenal squad is distraught in the wake of their painful defeat against Newcastle.

Speaking after the match, the Spaniard goalkeeper said:

“On the other hand, it could have been an offside position, that’s harder to see. But the ball is out of play and the foul is a massive decision that’s just going to cost us some points. We’re really frustrated," he said via The Mirror.
"The way we played, the way we competed, it was brilliant from everybody. We did what the gaffer asked us to do; win duels and get the ball up the pitch and everything, but decisions have taken a goal," he added.

Arsenal fans react to Newcastle goal

Sports Brief has also reported that Arsenal fans are lamenting about an apparent “daylight robbery” after their team suffered their first defeat of the season to Newcastle United.

The Magpies claimed all three points at St James’ Park in a crunch Premier League encounter as Anthony Gordon scored a controversial goal in the 64th minute.

In truth, it was a scrappy goal that summed up the extremely tight nature of the game, as both teams felt like several decisions went against them.
