FootballMarcus Rashford: Man Utd Star Left Out of Squad for Fulham After Party Incident
- Manchester United beat Fulham through a late Bruno Fernandes goal
- Marcus Rashford was left out of the matchday squad after his partying saga
- The reason for his omission was later disclosed as fitness issues
Marcus Rashford appeared to be paying the price for his disciplinary issue, but it was later disclosed that it was a different issue other than disciplinary action.
United travelled to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham, knowing only a win will ease pressure on the embattled manager Erik ten Hag after recent strings of poor results.
The Red Devils struggled throughout the game before captain Bruno Fernandes saved the day with a well-taken shot that was pushed into the net by Bernd Leno.
Per ESPN UK, Rashford was left out of the matchday squad, with many speculating it was a disciplinary action due to him partying after the Manchester derby loss last week.
Why Rashford missed Fulham win
Ten Hag clarified Rashford's omission via a statement on Man Utd's official website, stating it was due to an injury he picked up in training, which he failed to recover from.
"He was travelling with us, but he didn't make it. He was tested this morning, but [his leg] wasn't good enough. He's not fit," he said.
When asked if Marcus would have started, in light of recent events, the manager replied:
"Yes. We have to close that case. I have said everything about it."
Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho took his position in the team and did not do much to justify his inclusion. The English forward will go straight into the team when he returns from injury.

United fans send message to players
Police ban Inter fans' whistle welcome for 'traitor' Lukaku
FootballSports Brief reported on United fans' message to the players before their 1-0 scrappy win over Fulham away at Craven Cottage.
The fans had enough of the poor result and lacklustre performance and displayed a banner during warm-up asking the players to play like they meant it.
Midfielder Scott McTominay, who scored a goal which was disallowed for offside, claimed the players heard the fans, though the performance did not reflect the result.
