  • Issah was on target as the Phobians beat Medeama in midweek

Accra Hearts of Oak coach, Martin Koopman has drawn similarities between young striker, Hamza Issah, and Brazil's legendary forward Romario.

The Hearts of Oak forward has been in fine form, scoring in the last two games as the Phobians secured a 1-1 draw at Bibiani GoldStars and a 3-1 win against champions Medeama SC.

The diminutive attacker has suddenly become the fans favourite after helping end the club's winless run in five matches.

Meanwhile, coach Koopman, who can finally breathe a sigh of relief after earning his second win of the season, praised the youngster's display.

"It was a pity that Hamza was sick at half-time. He had a lot of problems with his stomach, every time [he went to] the toilet," the Hearts coach said after the match, as quoted by pulse.com.
"I asked 'Where is Hamza?' Again, he was on the toilet so I needed to change him. But you see the quality of Hamza, he has something from Romario, low on the ground, [and] turns very fast. I like him very much."

Romario helped Brazil win the 1994 World Cup and enjoyed a stellar career during his playing days in Spain with FC Barcelona, per transfermarkt.
