  • David Beckham is still in awe of Harry Kane’s goal against Darmstadt
  • The Englishman scored from his own half in the Bundesliga game
  • Kane has scored 12 goals and created five assists for Bayern Munich this season

David Beckham is still mesmerised by Harry Kane’s long-range goal against Darmstadt. The former Manchester United winger had to pay his respects to the Bayern Munich star.

The England captain scored a ‘goal of the season’ contender in Bayern’s 8-0 routing of Darmstadt, blazing an outrageous strike from his own half, reminiscent of Beckham’s strike against Wimbledon back in 1996.

According to GOAL, the Inter Miami co-owner took to social media to congratulate Kane on the magnificent goal while aiming light banter at the former Tottenham Hotspur striker.

The 30-year-old forward would eventually go on to score a hat-trick for Bayern Munich in the encounter, his second hat-trick for the reigning Bundesliga champions this season.

Kane has also become the first Bayern player to make 15 goal contributions in his first 12 games for the German club, netting 12 times and creating five more assists for his teammates this season.

Kane impressed with wonder goal

Meanwhile, Kane has admitted that the long-range strike was one of the best in his career, per Livescore.

The England striker was compared to fellow countrymen David Beckham and Wayne Rooney after he saw the keeper off his line and completed a flawless long-range drive.

On a chaotic afternoon at the Allianz Arena, 10-man Bayern came back from a goalless first 45 minutes to beat nine-man Darmstadt 8-0, with Kane scoring his second hat-trick of the Bundesliga season.

Kane’s wonder goal sparks excitement

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich made light work of league strugglers SV Darmstadt as Thomas Tuchel's side entered the match with the sole objective of overtaking Xabi Alonso's Bayern Leverkusen at the top of the league standings.

However, their plan took an unexpected turn as the Bavarian side found themselves down to 10 men within the opening four minutes after midfielder Joshua Kimmich was caught flatfooted by Marvin Mehlem.

Things appeared to be going all wrong for the Bundesliga giants until centre-back Klaus Gjasula made a clumsy tackle on Konrad Laimer, which earned him his marching orders.
