Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich made light work of league strugglers SV Darmstadt.

Thomas Tuchel's side entered the match with the sole objective of overtaking Xabi Alonso's Bayern Leverkusen at the top of the league standings.

However, their plan took an unexpected turn as the Bavarian side found themselves down to 10 men within the opening four minutes after midfielder Joshua Kimmich was caught flatfooted by Marvin Mehlem.

Things appeared to be going all wrong for the Bundesliga giants until centre-back Klaus Gjasula made a clumsy tackle on Konrad Laimer, which would earn him his marching orders.

With both teams reduced to 10 players each, the game was finely balanced until Croatian defender Matej Maglica thwarted Harry Kane's scoring opportunity and earned himself a red card in the process.

As reported by Bavarian Football Works, there was little to call between both sides in the first half, with the highlight of the game being the centre referee Martin Petersen so far.

However, Bayern Munich shifted gears in the second half, scoring within just five minutes. Harry Kane netted his 12th goal of the season off an assist from fullback Noussair Mazraoui. Leroy Sane and midfielder Jamal Musiala added two quick goals to ensure Bayern secured a commanding 3-0 lead before the 60th minute.

Sane scored again just four minutes later, and Kane extended the lead to five with a long-range strike in the 69th minute. As reported by Sky Sports, Thomas Muller, Musiala, and a third goal from Kane sealed a resounding victory for Bayern. Nonetheless, amid the flurry of goals that were scored, it was Kane's wonder goal in the 69th minute that ignited a frenzy on social media.

Receiving a pass from Muller in his own half, the England captain unleashed a spectacular long-range strike that beat goalkeeper Marcel Schuhen, earning praise from fans on social media. Here are some of their reactions:

Kane joins Ronaldo and Messi’s club

Earlier, Sports Brief reported England's dramatic come-from-behind victory over Italy, which ensured they secured their spot in the upcoming Euros tournament, featured a standout performance from Harry Kane.

The Bayern Munich star, who has been in remarkable form following his move to the Bundesliga club, extended his scoring streak by netting two goals in front of the Wembley crowd.

Kane's double on the night propelled him past Sir Bobby Charlton, making him the all-time leading goal scorer for the England men's team at Wembley, with an impressive total of 24 goals at the national stadium.
