The first El Clasico of the 2023/24 season was memorable. Jude Bellingham bagged a brace, and Vinicius Junior had his moment as Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-1.

Although Real Madrid got the win, Aurelien Tchouameni sustained an injury in the game. He dismissed reports that Barcelona youngster Gavi injured him.

A day after El Clasico, Real Madrid revealed that Tchouameni had sustained a stress fracture in the second metatarsal of the left foot. A timeline for his return was not mentioned, but reports have indicated he could be out for two months.

The young French midfielder has played every single game this season for Real Madrid and scored one goal.

He played the entire game on Saturday, helping Madrid take the bragging rights.

Tchouameni defends Gavi

In a video posted on social media, Gavi is seen chasing a loose ball before he meets Tchouameni. The French international can be seen limping shortly after.

Some fans on social media claimed Gavi had injured the former Monaco star, but he quickly clarified the situation, per 90min.

"It's not Gavi's fault. I was injured at the end of the first half," he wrote on social media.

Without the midfielder for some time, Carlo Ancelotti will have to call upon veteran Luka Modric, who has struggled to get into the team. He still has Jude Bellingham, Toni Kroos, Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, and Arda Guler as options in midfield.

Gavi clashes with Vinicius Jr.

Sports Brief earlier reported on Gavi clashing with Vinicius Junior during El Clasico.

At some point during the match, the 23-year-old was seen slapping Gavi as play resumed, according to a video posted on X.

Gavi responded by pushing the winger, but the referee didn't punish either of them.

In April, the pair were booked following an altercation. Gavi made an obscene gesture, but it was Vinicius and Real Madrid who had the last laugh.
