Mario Balotelli and his Adana Demirspor teammate, Mbaye Niang are trending for their method in deciding the club’s penalty taker during their Super Lig game against Konyaspor.

Balotelli took a less conventional route, letting 'rock paper scissors' make the ultimate decision while the two engaged in a merry duel.

Their interaction has since captured the hearts of football fans everywhere.

According to Pulse Sports, it was Niang who won the game, though it all paid off when he slotted home to score Adana's third and final goal of the match.

Balotelli enjoyed an illustrious career in England and Italy, making over 50 appearances for Man City and scoring 20 goals, as well as claiming three Serie A titles, a Premier League, and an FA Cup.

Balotelli’s fading career needs revival

Meanwhile, Balotelli is currently in his second stint with Demirspor and while his career continues to march on after 15 years, the Italian has failed to live up to his potential, Daily Star reports.

The 33-year-old forward has bounced around clubs since his exit from Manchester City in England, with a return to his hometown club of Brescia ending in an unceremonious sack in 2020.

Balotelli has also had stints with Olympique Marseille and Nice in France, as well as Liverpool, AC Milan, Inter Milan, before signing on with Turkish Super Lig giants, Adana Demirspor.

Balotelli ready to betray teammate

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Balotelli discussing possibly playing for PSG despite having previously represented their fierce rivals, Olympique Marseille, during his nomadic career.

A decade ago, the Italian seemed poised to become a footballing superstar, but his career took a different path as he ventured to over 10 clubs across three of Europe's top five leagues.

Most recently, the 33-year-old striker made a return to Turkish Super Lig giants, Adana Demirspor after a stint with FC Sion in Switzerland's top flight league ended on a sour note.
