Al-Nassr secured a comfortable 3-1 victory over Al Feiha at the Al Majma'ah Sports City Stadium on Saturday, October 28, propelling them to the second spot in the standings.

A double by Anderson Talisca, complemented by a goal from Otavio, extended the Knights of Najd's winning streak to three games across all competitions.

Talisca's brace fires Al-Nassr to away win

Fresh from an exhilarating seven-goal match in the AFC Champions League against Qatari side Al Duhail, the Riyadh-based giants started the game on the front foot, creating several close opportunities.

However, a steadfast Al Feiha defence initially thwarted the relentless attacks from the Al-Nassr quartet, consisting of Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, Otavio, and Anderson Talisca.

Their breakthrough finally arrived in the 50th minute when Ronaldo set up Talisca, who calmly guided the ball into the bottom corner with his signature finesse shot, eventually piercing the Al Feiha defence, Sporting News reports.

Mane saw his effort disallowed for offside, but Talisca subsequently secured his personal double and his team's second with a header after the hour mark, further exploiting the cracks in the opposing defence.

Although Al-Nassr faced a slight scare when Abdelhamid Sabiri halved the deficit three minutes after Talisca's second goal, former FC Porto playmaker Otavio effectively quashed any hopes of a comeback from the home side.

The Portuguese midfielder unleashed a superb strike from the edge of the box after receiving a pass from substitute Abdulmajeed Al Sulaiheem.

Maintaining the existing scoreline, the Arab Cup champions successfully fended off any further challenges, allowing manager Luis Castro to provide some much-needed rest to key players, including Ronaldo.

The result moves Al-Nassr to the second spot on the Saudi League log, four points adrift of Al-Hilal after 11 games, per Sofascore.

Ronaldo becoming face of Saudi Arabian sports

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Cristiano Ronaldo is fast becoming the face of the Saudi Arabian sporting scene after once again being used as the key figure to promote the country’s Esports World Cup.

The Al Nassr star met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman while he sat on a panel for the launch of the first Esports World Cup in 2024 alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
