Cristiano Ronaldo is fast becoming the face of the Saudi Arabian sporting scene after once again being used as the key figure to promote the country’s Esports World Cup.

The Al Nassr star met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman while he sat on a panel for the launch of the first Esports World Cup in 2024 alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

According to GOAL, the Esports World Cup will be an annual event that will feature the most popular games in the world and the biggest prize pot in the history of esports competitions.

Ronaldo has also been used to promote other sports since his arrival in Saudi Arabia, most notably the upcoming exhibition fight between English boxer Tyson Fury and former UFC Champion Francis Ngannou.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has also influenced the revolution being witnessed in the Saudi Pro League as his arrival at Al Nassr in December 2022 has seen the influx of many top talents, such as Karim Benzema, Neymar and Riyad Mahrez, among others, into Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo gifts Ngannou luxury watch

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo has shown his generous side to former UFC heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou after he gifted the Cameroonian a luxury watch worth €100,000, MARCA reports.

The timepiece is a limited edition produced by the Jacob & Co brand called 'Heart of Ronaldo', a franchise dedicated to the former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward.

Ngannou, who will tackle current World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight champion Tyson Fury on October 28, will make his ring debut in a fight that will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo is the world’s most searched player

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Cristiano Ronaldo is still the most famous athlete in the world, ahead of football rival Lionel Messi and NBA superstar Lebron James after the 2023 Google search list was released.

The Al-Nassr star has garnered over 199 million searches on Google and all social networks in statistics released on Monday, October 23, by the OLBG team.

Five footballers made the 2023 list of the top 10 most searched athletes in the world, with Ronaldo ahead of football rival Lionel Messi, who was ranked third on the list.
