David Datro Fofana has been suspended for one week by Union Berlin after a misunderstanding with his coach this week.
Fofana, who is on loan from Chelsea, was unhappy after he was substituted in the 70th minute during their Champions League clash against Napoli.
The Ivorian walked straight past Union Berlin's Head Coach Urs Fischer's outstretched hand, visibly angered by the decision.
He later took to his social media handles to apologise, saying that the reaction was out of frustration.
"Following my behaviour during my exit from the field, I wanted to apologize to the club, the coach, my teammates and the supporters. This gesture was not intended and in no way does it represent my attitude; all this was generated as a result of frustration because I wanted to continue helping the team to obtain a positive result," he said on his Instagram page.

FootballThe club has now suspended him for one week, as reported by the Guardian. The 20-year-old will be unavailable for selection against Werder Bremen and Stuttgart and will only resume first-team training on November 1.
Fofana is yet to score for his new side since making the switch in the summer. Union Berlin are currently enduring their worst run of form in recent times. The 1-0 loss to Napoli was their 9th consecutive defeat in all competitions.
At the same time, Sports Brief reported that Chelsea summer signing, Cole Palmer has apologised for throwing a bottle at Mauricio Pochettino during the London derby against rivals Arsenal.
Palmer was among the goalscorers as the two Premier League giants played out a 2-2 draw over the weekend at Stamford Bridge.
The match was marked with a minor incident involving Palmer and Pochettino. The youngster hit the Chelsea boss with a water bottle shortly after the ex-Man City ace had been replaced by Reece James.
