The injury bug has struck Newcastle United once again.
Jacob Murphy and Alexander Isak were forced off in the match against Borussia Dortmund due to injuries.
It was a tough night for the Magpies, who lost for the first time in the Champions League this season.
Isak and Murphy's injury woes
Isak, who has scored eight goals this season, started the game for Newcastle in place of Callum Wilson.
His outing didn’t last long, though, as he exited after just 15 minutes due to a recurrence of his groin problem, per the BBC.
Murphy added to Newcastle’s injury concerns after entering the contest in the 65th minute. He lasted just five minutes on the pitch before he suffered a shoulder injury.
He appeared to have dislocated his shoulder, using his shirt as a makeshift sling while departing the field.
Newcastle United's growing injury list
Isak and Murphy are the latest Newcastle stars to join the Magpies’ injured list.
Defender Sven Botman has missed Newcastle's last six matches because of a knee issue and could be out for a further two weeks.
Winger Harvey Barnes was ruled out for about three months due to a foot injury he suffered in their 8-0 win over Sheffield United back in September.
He remains in the treatment room but does not require surgery.
Newcastle's upcoming schedule
The growing injury list is bad news for the Magpies, who will play four games in the next two weeks.
