The latest Saudi Pro League market values are in, and it doesn’t make good reading for some of football’s big-name players.
€957 million was spent on bringing in players to the Saudi league during the recent summer transfer window, but it hasn’t worked out well for all the new players.
Transfermarkt has released the latest player values, which have seen many of the new signings lose out.
Some of Saudi’s biggest losers
Brazil’s Neymar moved to Al-Hilal in the summer from PSG for €90m, but has seen his value drop by €10m to €50m.
Benzema, who left Real Madrid for Al-Ittihad, has seen his value also drop by €10m. The last Ballon d’Or winner is now only valued at €15m in the latest stats.
Ronaldo is no longer the MVP
Cristiano Ronaldo’s value remains the same at €15m, but he is no longer the league’s most valuable player.
The Portuguese superstar was the league’s MVP before the transfer window but is now only 23rd.
Neymar now holds the honour of being the most valuable star in Saudi Arabia. Sadly for Al-Hilal, their Brazilian will be out of action after he suffered an injury while on duty for Brazil.
As noted by The Guardian, Neymar sustained an anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus tear. He will now have to undergo surgery.
What affects the market values?
