Soccernet suggests that the player’s relationship with his club and fans has deteriorated since Napoli posted a controversial video on the player on their official TikTok account.

The Napoli striker had missed a penalty kick during their 0-0 draw with Bologna as the Partenopei dropped points again this season.

The club then shared the footage, which many condemned as the striker also deleted every Napoli-related picture on his Instagram handle.

Another clip surfaced on social media showing how Osimhen ignored a handshake from the club captain, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, after the striker had a touchline altercation with Rudi Garcia on the touchline after he was substituted.

Osimhen linked with Liverpool

Meanwhile, the forward has been linked with Premier League giants Liverpool, as the Reds have reportedly reached an agreement with the Napoli striker.

His contract at the Naples expires in 2025, and there are no indications that he will pen a new deal.

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis recently admitted talks over a new contract had stalled.

Sports Brief earlier reported that Victor Osimhen is getting the accolade he deserves after helping Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years last year under Italian boss Luciano Spalletti.

The Nigerian striker scored 26 goals and provided a further four assists to help the club secure their first title since the 1989/90 Diego Maradona-inspired season.

His teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who chipped in 11 goals and 11 assists, was awarded the league's best player, much to widespread reaction from Nigerians.
