Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi has partnered with German international, Karim Adeyemi, to give back to the Ajegunle community area of Lagos State.
The Nigerian international who currently plies his football trade in England with Leicester City grew up in the community, and he is one of the numerous Nigerian footballers that were nurtured there.
Adeyemi, on the other hand, was not born in Nigeria, but his father was. He decided to represent Germany on the international stage, but that hasn't stopped him from giving back to his roots.
Ndidi took to his official page on Instagram to confirm his partnership with Adeyemi in completing the Maracana Stadium initiative project in Lagos.
“I am very proud to be part of this journey and very grateful to Nigeria for supporting my sports development,” he said.
The Borussia Dortmund forward and the Leicester City star donated two residential buildings bearing their names, with each of them housing 96 fully air-conditioned beds, according to a report by Soccernet.
The Nigerian midfielder also confirmed that the Minister of Sports John Enoh and other dignitaries visited the facilities on Saturday, October 21.
“On October 21st, the Maracana Stadium in Ajegunle welcomed a special visit from Nigerian Sports Minister Senator John Enoh, HRM Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, Oniru of Iru Land, and Ajeromi Ifelodun LGA Chairman Fatai Ayoola," he added.
