Barcelona could have lost out in their bid to sign Joao Felix if Paris Saint-Germain had gone through in pursuing their interest in the 23-year-old superstar.
The Portugal forward is having a dream start to life with the Catalans since joining Xavi’s team on loan from Atletico Madrid, scoring three goals and two assists so far in La Liga.
According to Barca Universal, Felix was actually inclined towards joining PSG before signing for the Catalans, but the move failed as Luis Enrique did not want him.
The 23-year-old forward’s representatives, who were keen to get him away from Atletico Madrid, had first offered his services to the Ligue 1 giants after his loan spell at Chelsea had expired.
Barcelona are now seeking to keep Felix as they have contacted Los Rojiblancos regarding a permanent move for the Portuguese.

Meanwhile, Portugal national team boss Roberto Martinez has been impressed by Joao Felix's club form following his revival at Barcelona after struggling in previous months, Football Espana reports.
Martinez admitted the Catalans have given the 23-year-old forward another dimension, making him a key player under Xavi, becoming a starter for the Catalans since his switch from Atletico Madrid.
During the October international break, Portugal won a place at Euro 2024 by defeating Slovakia and Bosnia & Herzegovina, with Felix scoring against the latter.
