English Premier League side Newcastle are interested in bringing in-form Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface to England next summer.
The Nigerian striker has been impressive for Bayer Leverkusen since joining the club from Belgian side Union SG in the summer.
Boniface has been enjoying his time under Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso, with his performances being noticed by top clubs in Europe.
According to a report by Complete Sport, The Magpies sent out scouts to watch Boniface play for the Super Eagles during their international friendly game against Saudi Arabia last week Friday (October 13).
The Leverkusen star impressed in the game and was one of the best players on the pitch. He caused problems for the Green Falcons' backline and was involved in the Super Eagles' first goal.
Newcastle presently have Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson in their ranks, but Eddie Howe wants to add some physicality to his frontline, a quality Boniface can offer.
The Magpies are not the only team monitoring the progress of the Nigerian international, with Manchester City and Real Madrid being on the lookout.
The Nigerian striker's performance at the start of the season has earned him three awards in the German Bundesliga. He was named the Player of the Month for August, coupled with Rookie of the Month.
Boniface did not win the Player of the Month award for September but did win the Rookie of the Month award.
