Despite losing to Mexico on Saturday and to the United States on Wednesday morning, the former Brighton and Hove Albion manager has insisted he is the right man for the job.

"If you ask me if I feel like I’m the right person for this job, the answer is yes," he said at the post-match presser.

Hughton went on to apologise to fans of the Black Stars but remains confident the team will bounce back before the start of the World Cup qualifiers and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The four-time African champions begin their 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar next month.
