The 38-year-old has disclosed his love for former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, Okocha, according to a report by Soccernet, as per Kicker.

The former Bayern Munich star claimed he fell in love with the Super Eagles legend's style of play.

The former Nigerian international scored one of the greatest goals in the history of the German Bundesliga.

“My childhood idol was Jay-Jay Okocha. The way he handled the ball was fascinating to me. He was like an artist,” Gomez said.

Gomez also spoke on the debate of who the greatest footballer of all time is, and he categorically claimed that it is former Barcelona and PSG star Lionel Messi. However, he still recognised the greatness of Brazilian trio Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, and Romario.

"Definitely Lionel Messi, even though I was always a fan of Ronaldinho, Rivaldo or especially Romario. But Messi is already in a league of his own," he added.

Okocha chooses between Messi, Ronaldo

Sports Brief previously reported on Okocha commenting on the GOAT debate as the argument continues to rage between fans of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The Argentine and the Portuguese superstars have reigned supreme for years, causing fans, pundits, and even players to remain divided on which of them is greater.

While Okocha acknowledged the extraordinary accomplishments of both Messi and Ronaldo in football, the former Bolton playmaker has a definite favourite in his view.
