- Ghana will face the United States in a friendly on Tuesday
Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton has opened up on Athletic Club striker Inaki Williams' struggles with the Ghana national team.
The Spain-born forward is yet to score his first goal for the Black Stars after eight appearances.
Ahead of the international friendly against the United States, the ex-Brighton and Hove Albion manager has disclosed that the supply from midfield and the flanks have not been effective.
"We can't fault the work rate that he puts in. He is a player prepared to run behind. We just need to get the formulas right where we can provide him with the service, which can come in two ways," he said in the pre-match presser, as quoted by ghanasoccernet.com.
"It can come from the wide areas or it can come from runs over the top," he added.
With the Black Stars, the 29-year-old has mainly featured as the central striker.
"Over the period, we haven't been able to provide him with that type of service. Some of that is sporadic; we have games where we have had good possession in the middle of the park and look for runners," continued Hughton.
"But, as I said, we need to find the right formulas to create chances for him, and so far, we haven't been able to do that."
Williams was a second-half substitute as the Black Stars suffered a 2-0 defeat to Mexico on Saturday.
He is expected to start at the GEODIS Park when the Black Stars engage the United States on Tuesday night, as reported by ussoccer.com.
