  • Jude Bellingham's superb performance this season has received critical acclaim
  • He is one of the most in-form players in the world this season after a red-hot start at Real Madrid
  • Ex-England international Joleon Lescott has called the 20-year-old the "best player" in the world

Jude Bellingham is undoubtedly one of the most in-form players in the world right now. The 20-year-old Englishman has made a dream start at Real Madrid, which has earned him rave reviews from fans and pundits.

Former Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott has claimed that the England international is the best player in the world right now, echoing comments made by ex-Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves.

Real Madrid signed Bellingham in the summer for 103 million euros in the summer from Borussia Dortmund, and so far, he's lived up to his price tag.

He has scored 10 goals in all competitions after 10 appearances. Eight of those goals have come in La Liga, making him the leading scorer, per Transfermarkt.

Moreover, his incredible production on the pitch has seen him become a fan favourite at the Santiago Bernabeu. Heck, there's even a song the fans sing to him.

Lescott makes bold Bellingham claim

Lescott recently claimed that this compatriot is the best footballer in the world, per GOAL.

"He's [Bellingham] the best player in the world right now... He's carrying himself well and delivering on the pitch. He understands the game at a level he shouldn't at his age. Long may it continue for himself and England because he could win the Ballon d'Or and that would be a huge thing for England." said Lescott.

That is definitely a bold claim, and Bellingham does have a good case to be called the "best player" in the world. He faces competition from Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, who are considered the two best players in the world.

The Englishman is one of the most exciting players in the world, and he's getting praise like this at 20 years old.

Where Bellingham ranks among valuable players

Sports Brief also reported that Bellingham's exceptional performance in Spain has had a favourable impact on the most recent rankings of the top 10 most valuable players globally, with Real Madrid's stars dominating the list.

In this recent release of the most valuable players globally, the English midfielder is ranked second, trailing behind his fellow teammate, Vinicius Jr.

Bellingham, who has made an impressive start to his career in Spain, is currently estimated to be valued at €250 million, according to the CIES Football Observatory.
