  • Kylian Mbappe's future with Paris Saint-Germain is still unclear
  • The French star refused to sign a new deal in the summer or leave the club
  • PSG are reportedly looking to sign him to a one-year deal with an exit clause in 2024

Kylian Mbappe and his club, Paris Saint-Germain, were involved in a highly publicized contract standoff in the summer but managed to resolve it before the season started.

The club are reportedly looking to give Mbappe one last contract offer until 2025 but will insert an exit clause for 2024.

According to Diario Sport, as reported by Football Espana, PSG are planning on giving Mbappe a one-year deal, which will expire in 2025. However, the France captain can leave in 2024 for a fee.

Moreover, the French champions will look to sell Mbappe in January if he declines to sign the deal. The 24-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, but a deal did not materialize.

He was excluded from the club's tour of Japan and South Korea after he told the club he was planning to leave as a free agent next summer.

The World Cup winner also rejected a move to Al-Hilal, who offered a world record €300 million for his services, per Sky Sports.

He has scored eight goals in nine games in all competitions so far this season.

Mbappe reaches new milestone for France

Sports Brief also reported that the 24-year-old surpassed Michel Platini's record to become the fourth-highest goal scorer in the history of the French national team.

With 42 goals in 72 appearances, the FIFA World Cup 2018's standout performer is now behind only Olivier Giroud (54), Thierry Henry (51), and Antoine Griezmann (44) in his quest to become France's all-time leading goal scorer.

In the upcoming international friendly against Steve Clarke's thriving Scotland team, the former Monaco sensation aims to surpass Griezmann and secure a higher position in the ranks of Les Bleus.

Vinicius wants to play with Mbappe

Sports Brief earlier reported on Vinicius Jr explaining why he wants to play alongside PSG star and Real Madrid target Kylian Mbappe.

The 14-time European champions have been long-term admirers of Mbappe and are reportedly planning to acquire him next summer on a free transfer.

The French superstar was locked in a protracted contract stand-off with the club and insisted he sign a new deal this summer.
