Mamelodi Sundowns have moved ahead of Kaizer Chiefs in the DStv Diski Challenge after their 1-0 win over the Amakhosi at the Tsakane Stadium on Sunday, October 15.

The Chiefs needed a draw to hold on to the first place, but the young Brazilians secured an away win to move one point clear of the young Amakhosi side.

It was a close game between both sides, with the tie staying goalless for long, but a 64th-minute strike from Keabetswe Ramotsei gave the young Brazilians the deserved win.

Sinethemba Badela’s Sundowns juniors scored the only goal of the game after Mzwekhanya Nknonxeni put Ramotsei through on goal and made no mistake in putting the ball past Takalani Mazhamba, according to iDiskiTimes.

The home loss for Kaizer Chiefs doesn't only mean they lose their top spot, but all move to third behind Orlando Pirates on goal difference.

The Pirates thrashed Chippa United 3-0 on Saturday, October 14, which gave them a better goal difference compared to Vela Khumalo’s young Amakhosi side.

The Kaizer Chiefs Reserves will hope to get back to winning ways in their next game against the Swallows Reserves, on Saturday, October 21.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns Reserves will hope to hold on to the top spot when they face Polokwane City Reserves at home the same day.
