Kaizer Chiefs manager Molefi Ntseki has explained why his team lost to Cape Town City at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday, October 3.

Khanyisa Mayo's goal in the 58th minute gave the visitors the deserved win over the Glamour Boys.

Eric Tinkler’s men ended Kaizer Chiefs' home unbeaten run in the league this season.

After the game, Ntseki disclosed during the post-match conference what cost his team the game against the Citizens.

"Decision making let us down, we got frustrated after missing chances and in the end we couldn’t get the result," he said.

The Amakhosi's loss against Cape Town City today is their fourth defeat against the Blue and Gold Army in the last five games, and Ntseki agreed that it is a bad record for them, according to iDiskiTimes.

“It is, it is [four defeats is too much] it doesn’t go well with all of us, in terms of losing matches, as I said you prepare [for matches] to win,” he added.
“The team has brought in good quality players. and this good quality player… I always say it’s a process, it’s a process for them to understand the game model, it’s a process for them to understand results like this."

Ntseki's side find themselves in seventh place on 11 points, a full 13 points behind league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who still have a game in hand.

City Snap Chiefs’ impressive home ground record

Sports Brief early reported that Cape Town City snapped Kaizer Chiefs' home record as a result of the loss. Chiefs have now lost one of their first five home games for the first time since 2016.

The result saw the Mother City side jump up to fifth on the table, level on points with Moroka Swallows and SuperSport United above them.
