- Phillipe Coutinho has hit the ground running at Al Duhail
- The Brazilian was on target with a goal as his side beat Al-Gharafa in the Qatari Stars Cup
- He now has two goals in three appearances for the club in three games
Phillipe Coutinho continues his revival in football as he was in inspired form for Al Duhail in the Qatari Stars Cup on Saturday, October 14.
The Brazilian joined Al-Duhail in a loan deal from Aston Villa after injuries forced him down the pecking order at the Premier League club under Unai Emery.
Coutinho’s move to the Qatari league came after a mass exodus of big names in Europe, who decided to join the Saudi Arabia league.
In their unveiling, Al-Duhail described Coutinho as a “great asset”, and barely weeks into his spell with his new club and the former Liverpool, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan playmaker is already bossing the league.
After missing three Al-Duhail games through injury, Coutinho marked his debut on September 28 with a goal as his side claimed a 2-1 win over Al-Markhiya.
Coutinho on target, again
The 31-year-old’s third outing for his side was against Al-Gharafa on Saturday, and he absolutely dominated that game.
In a video shared by @QSL on X, Coutinho can be seen advancing in opposition territory before producing a classy assist to Ismaeel Mohammad for the opener in the 64th minute.
The Brazilian then secured victory with a goal from the penalty spot deep in stoppage time.
