Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior has added fuel to the fire surrounding Kylian Mbappe's future, which is still unclear despite deciding to stay at Paris Saint-Germain.
The French superstar was locked in a protracted contract stand-off with the club and insisted he sign a new deal this summer.
The 24-year-old will be a free agent next summer, and the club, especially president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, doesn't want to lose arguably the best player in the world for free to rival clubs in Europe like Real Madrid.
Mbappe was excluded from their pre-season tour of Asia despite saying he wasn't going to leave the club.
Early in August, the World Cup winner was reinstated to the squad and has played a major role under new boss Luis Enrique. He has scored eight goals in nine appearances so far this season, per Transfermarkt.
Vinicius wants to play with Mbappe
Speaking to France Football via Get Football, the Real Madrid superstar expressed his desire to play alongside the PSG star.
“Everyone wants to play with Kylian (Mbappé) here. I hope it happens one day, he is one of the best players, perhaps the best.”
The 14-time European champions have been long-term admirers of Mbappe and are reportedly planning to acquire him next summer on a free transfer.
Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal also made a world-record bid to buy Mbappe but were unsuccessful. They ended up signing Mbappe's PSG teammate Neymar, per 90min.
Rodrygo wants Mbappe in Madrid
Sports Brief earlier reported on Los Blancos youngster, Rodrygo saying he hopes Mbappe joins Real Madrid because he will help them.
