- United have lost four of their eight opening fixtures of the new Premier League season
Manchester United reportedly have four players on their transfer shortlist ahead of the January transfer window.
The Red Devils are expected to reinforce their squad further in the upcoming window after a frustrating start to the new season.
According to GiveMeSport, United have endured a somewhat roller-coaster since the start of the 2023/24 campaign, with Erik ten Hag's men picking up four defeats in eight Premier League games.
Defence and the goalkeeping departments have proved to be their biggest weakling, with the Old Trafford dwellers shipping in 12 goals in just eight of their opening league fixtures.
It is understood that United are now targeting reinforcements in the centre of their defence, especially after injuries to Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.
Which players are Man United targeting?
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, United have already drawn up a four-man shortlist of players the club are targeting.
Sporting Lisbon's Goncalo Inacio is believed to be top on the list alongside Portugal's Antonio Silva.
Silva shot to prominence last season when he found the back of the net during Benfica's 4-3 thrilling win over Juventus in the Champions League.
Nice centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo and Edmond Tapsoba of Bayer Leverkusen complete the four-man shortlist.
