It’s not been an easy few weeks for FC Barcelona.

The Blaugrana have a number of players out on the injured list, and with El Clasico nearing, it is a concern for the side and their fans.

With the international break currently in full swing, Sports Brief looks at six Barca stars who are injured.

Robert Lewandowski

The Polish striker suffered an ankle injury in Barcelona’s Champions League win over Porto on October 4.

As noted by 90 MIN, tests conducted on the star showed that he had sprained his ankle during the game.

While the club didn’t provide an estimated time of recovery, an injury of that nature generally leaves a player out of action for close to a month.

Frenkie de Jong

A key figure for Barcelona this season, the Spanish giants have been without de Jong since the third week of September.

The club’s website confirmed that he suffered an injury to his right ankle, and his recovery would dictate when he returns.

De Jong has played every minute of the season for Barca before his injury, and the club will hope to have him back soon.

Jules Koundé

Defender Koundé is one person who will definitely miss the upcoming El Clasico.

The French international suffered an injury in Barca’s draw with Granada in their last La Liga game.

As noted by AS, it is believed that he will be out of action for over a month, and has been ruled out of playing against Los Blancos.

Raphinha

The Brazilian winger could be available for the games against the La Liga leaders Madrid at the end of the month.

Raphinha suffered a slight hamstring injury at the end of September during a La Liga game against Sevilla. Despite the level of the injury, Transfermarkt reported that he could return by October 20.

Pedri

Unlike some of his teammates, the talented midfielder didn’t pick up an injury during a game, but rather in training.

As noted by Goal, Pedri suffered a thigh injury at the end of August and was supposed to return approximately a month later.

Barcelona are not rushing his return as they hope to have him back in time for the Madrid encounter.

Gavi

Barca’s latest injury concern is to another talented midfielder.

As noted by Barca Universal, Gavi picked up an injury during training with the Spanish national team.

There are no details on what type of injury Gavi has suffered, so his availability for El Clasico cannot be determined yet.

Jules Kounde suffers injury

Barcelona are having a serious injury crisis as the Catalan club could have up to six players unavailable for the first El Clasico of the 2023/24 season.

Jules Kounde and youngster Lamine Yamal are the latest duo set to face spells on the sidelines and could miss the crucial game against Real Madrid on October 28.

Kounde sprained his MCL in Barcelona's 2-2 tie, Sports Brief reported.
