Real Madrid are set to make Vinicius Junior the club’s highest-paid player after agreeing to extend the deal of the Brazilian forward following his impressive stint with the club.

According to 90MIN, talks have been ongoing between Vinicius and Real Madrid over a new contract for much of this year, and terms were agreed in principle in the summer.

The Brazilian’s new bumper deal, which also features a release clause worth €1bn, will run until 2027, and it will see him overtake Toni Kroos and David Alaba as the club’s top earner.

Real Madrid hope to announce the new deal for Vinicius before the club’s next game in La Liga against Sevilla on October 21.

Vinicius pledges commitment to Real Madrid

Meanwhile, Vinicius Junior has reaffirmed his love for Real Madrid and has disclosed he would love to play for the Spanish giants for the remainder of his career, Tribal Football reports.

The 23-year-old forward, who was on target as Real Madrid defeated Osasuna 4-0 on Saturday, scored in back-to-back games for Los Blancos after returning from an injury that ruled him out for six weeks.

Vinicius has become one of the club’s most influential players following the exit of Karim Benzema last summer and is now set to pen a new long-term deal with the Spanish giants.

Vinicius show off samba moves

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Vinicius Junior and Eduardo Camavinga showcased their Samba-inspired goal celebration during Real Madrid's commanding victory over Osasuna.

Their close bond, developed during the off-season, was evident as they unveiled their synchronised celebration.

The 23-year-old's return from injury has provided a significant lift for Real Madrid, who currently lead La Liga with an impressive 24 out of 27 possible points from nine matches.
