- Following a new twist, the Real Madrid coach has been reinstated to his duties
The long-standing tension between Real Madrid and Barcelona has once again flared up due to recent developments involving the dismissal of youth coach Adria Diaz from Los Blancos.
In recent times, these two football giants have been embroiled in various disputes, and it now appears that the 33-year-old manager finds himself caught in one of those crossfires.
According to reports by Goal, Adria Diaz, who served as an assistant coach for Madrid’s ‘Juvenil C’ team, faced criticism from the club’s hierarchy for penning a farewell letter to his former employer, Barcelona. The situation escalated when Diaz referred to Barcelona as ‘the club of his dreams’ in this heartfelt letter.
Although Diaz had initially posted this affectionate message on social media, he deleted it upon joining Real Madrid. Nevertheless, someone appears to have captured it, and the message eventually reached the club’s academy director, Manu Fernandez, who made the decision to terminate Diaz’s contract.
Real Madrid to reinstate youth coach
However, in a surprising turn of events, The Athletic now reports that senior officials of the club convened a meeting on Monday to address the situation.
Following the meeting, a unanimous decision was reached to reinstate Diaz in his position. Additionally, the academy leadership was reportedly reprimanded for their hasty decision to dismiss the youth coach.
It’s worth noting that Adria Diaz had previously worked at Barcelona in various youth coaching roles from 2015 to 2019. He joined Real Madrid as an under-17 coach this summer.
