According to Metro UK, United have managed just four wins so far, with the difficult streak of form leaving them sitting 10th in the standings with 12 points.

At the continental stage, Erik ten Hag's charges are not finding it easy either, as they are currently bottom of Group A, having failed to pick up a single point so far.

However, the Old Trafford dwellers did have their mood lifted on Saturday after they secured a 2-1 hard-fought win over Brentford at home.

United looked set to lose the tie before Scott McTominay came off the bench to net twice in injury time to steer the Red Devils to victory.

Neville predicts where Man United could finish

Despite the encouraging victory, Neville does not see United sealing a Champions League spot at the end of the season.

According to the ex-defender, his former side is likely to finish outside the top five, citing Andre Onana's struggles as the limiting factor as they strive for positive results.

"I don’t think Manchester United will finish in the top five this season," he said on the Gary Neville Podcast.
"I think they are way off it. And I’m surprised because seven or eight weeks ago, I had them third, But honestly from what I see at the moment, I don’t think the goalkeeper is settled in, I think he should have saved the one yesterday so that is a problem," he added.

Man City set unwanted record

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Manchester City setting an unwanted record following their 1-0 defeat against Arsenal in the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola and his troops have endured a shaky run of form in recent days, having lost three of their last four matches across competitions.
