Kaizer Chiefs manager, Molefi Ntseki has explained why his team needed former Springboks Rugby Psychologist Dr. Henning Gericke.
The highly experienced mental coach was appointed in early September and has been earning praise from the Amakhosi players and the coach.
Gericke joined the Chiefs as a high-performance coach and had specific areas he would focus on in the team.
He has previously worked with the likes of the Sharks provincial rugby team, the Springboks rugby team, the Proteas South African cricket team, and Bafana Bafana during the 2009 Confederations Cup, which the country hosted.
Ntseki, during a press conference, confirmed the role of the newly appointed mental coach and showered him with praise for what he has done so far with the team, according to Soccer Laduma.
"Well done to Dr Henning, I think he's playing a very important role in making us understand things that on a sober mind you don't want to understand," he said.
Chiefs are presently going through a rough patch in the league, as they lost their last match against Cape Town City in the DStv Premiership.
The Soweto giants have lost three of their last four games in all competitions, according to Soccerway.
The Glamour Boys will hope to get back to winning ways when they face Golden Arrows in their next game in the league after the international break.
