At 16 years and 87 days, he became the youngest goalscorer in La Liga, breaking an 11-year record held by Fabrice Olinga of Malaga.

Ansu Fati was the previous holder of the record. He was 16 years and 304 days old when he scored against Osasuna in 2019.

Barcelona went 2-0 down after 29 minutes, and Yamal's goal came in added time of the first half. He tapped in Joao Felix's pass. A resolute Granada defence held on to the 2-1 lead until the 85th minute.

Sergi Roberto scored the equalizer through Alejandro Balde's assist whilst Felix thought he had scored a dramatic winner, but his goal was ruled out for offside.

Barcelona are now third on the table, three points behind leaders Real Madrid and one behind high-flying Girona, per BBC.

Record-breaking year for Yamal

It has been quite a year for Yamal. He has broken several records ever since he made his debut for the Spanish giants. At 15 years and 290 days, he became Barcelona's youngest-ever player when he came on as a substitute against Real Betis.

A few months later, he became Spain's youngest player and goalscorer at 16 years and 57 days. He beat the record of his Barcelona teammate Gavi, who achieved that feat at 17 years and 62 days.

He has featured in nine Barcelona games this season, starting five and on Sunday, he added another record.

Lamine signs new Barcelona deal

Sports Brief has also reported on Yamal signing a new deal with Barcelona, with his impressive performances earning him a new deal including a staggering €1 billion release clause.

This new contract will keep the Spanish youngster with the Catalans until 2026, demonstrating the commitment of the club to his long-term development under coach Xavi Hernandez.

The 16-year-old wonderkid has already made a significant impact this season. He has featured in every Barcelona game this season, garnering many plaudits.
