Veteran striker Olivier Giroud has been added to AC Milan's goalkeeper's list for the 2023/24 season.
Milan took the decision following Giroud's goalkeeping heroics during their Serie A clash against Genoa on Saturday.
According to Sportbible, the former Arsenal and Chelsea striker was drafted in as an emergency goalkeeper during the tie after Mike Maignan was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Caleb Ekuban.
Milan had already exhausted all their substitutes prior to Maignan's red card, leaving them with no choice but to play an outfield player between the sticks.
Giroud included as AC Milan goalkeeper
talkSPORT reports that Giroud stepped up to take the responsibility, with the Frenchman leaving many surprised with his never-known goalkeeping talent.
He was so brilliant that he showed off some impressive reflexes, including a big save in the 104th minute to ensure his side carted home the three points.
Giroud's impressive cameo has seen Milan list him as one of their goalkeepers for the new season.
A spot check on the club's official website has the France international among the goalkeepers.
The forward, who has scored four goals so far, has also retained his spot as a striker.
AC Milan stars disagree with Pioli
Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Leao and Hernandez disagreeing with Pioli when the manager wanted to substitute teammate Ruben Loftus-Cheek during the 2-1 win over Roma.
The former Chelsea midfielder settled in well into the team and is a force in the middle of the park. His teammates were spotted arguing with the manager over his substitution.
Loftus-Cheek was on course to break into the team permanently in the 2019/20 season under Maurizio Sarri, but he ruptured his Achilles tendon and was ruled out for 13 months.
