It’s not a good time to be Itumeleng Khune.
The Kaizer Chiefs’ shot-stopper is being trolled online after Olivier Giroud’s performance for AC Milan.
While it may seem strange that Khune is catching strays over the performance of a striker, it was Giroud’s stint as a keeper that’s the reason.
As noted by Goal, Milan were taking on Genoa in a Serie A clash when goalkeeper Mike Maignan was sent off in stoppage time. Milan were leading 1-0 at that stage, and Giroud was asked to play as keeper.
The French striker pulled off a brilliant save as Milan hung on to the win.
Former Orland Pirates Brand Manager Joseph Bertrand then went onto social media to troll Khune, noting that he hasn’t kept a clean sheet this month, but Giroud has.
As noted by Transfermarkt, Khune has made just two appearances for the Amakhosi this season but has conceded in both games.
Giroud steps up and saves AC Milan
Olivier Giroud would not have thought he would finish the game in goal for AC Milan during their 1-0 win over Genoa.
Milan came into the game knowing a win would send them to the top of the Italian Serie A table after Inter Milan threw away a two-goal lead against Bologna.
American winger Christian Pulisic scored the winning goal in the 87th minute, but the drama that ensued after the goal was unimaginable, Sports Brief reported.

Kaizer Chiefs were defeated again in the Premier Soccer League, and there are now concerns over the performance of goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune.
Statistics have shown the Amakhosi have lost each of the last seven league games in which the 36-year-old shot-stopper has started for the club.
Although Chiefs dominated most of the game, Khanyisa Mayo scored the lone goal for the visiting Cape Town City as they silenced the home fans at the FNB Stadium, Sports Brief previously reported.
