  • Jose Mourinho guided AS Roma to a second consecutive European final last season
  • Mourinho ended speculation linking him with Saudi Arabia by staying at Roma
  • The Special One has now confirmed he has plans to manage in Saudi Arabia in future

Jose Mourinho appears to have confirmed his next destination whenever he leaves AS Roma with comments that he will certainly manage in Saudi Arabia one day.

Mourinho joined Roma in 2021 and instantly ended the club's 14-year trophy drought, leading the club to win the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League.

He guided the club to a second consecutive European final with the UEFA Europa League last season but lost to Sevilla under controversial conditions with English official Anthony Taylor in charge.

There were speculations over his future in Rome, but he ended the links to Saudi Arabia, rejecting what could have been a world-record salary for a manager from Al-Hilal.

Mourinho confirms Saudi Arabia plans

Roma announced Riyadh Season as their new front-of-shirt sponsor earlier this week. During the ceremony, Mourinho spoke to El Hekaya Show, as quoted by Roma Press, confirming plans to manage in the Middle East.

“I will definitely come during my free time, but my belief is also that I will work there. I don’t know when, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be working there,” he said.
“Yes, I will work there. Right now, I’m at Roma, I’m focused, and I’ll give everything until my last day here. Nobody knows the future, but it’s something I will definitely do,” he added.

There were reports in the Italian manager that Roma could sack the former Chelsea boss if he doesn't win against Cagliari, and Hansi Flick has been contacted, but as per La Roma24, the club's sources denied the news.

Mourinho's comment on Europa League final

Sports Brief reported on Jose Mourinho's audacious claim about last season's final as his team regrouped for another attempt to win the competition.

Roma lost the final under controversial conditions to Sevilla in Budapest last season, and the Special One insists his team did not lose the game and he'd continue to hold on to that claim.
