According to Sportbible, Messi's move to Inter Miami saw him become the biggest signing in the history of the MLS. The ex-Barcelona star was quickly followed by Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, who reunited with him at the club.

The legendary forward has gone on to enjoy an impressive start to life with the Florida-based franchise, having bagged an incredible 10 goals in just his first seven appearances for the Herons.

Messi wants Modric at Inter Miami

Reports now claim the Argentine maestro has urged Inter Miami's chiefs to consider signing Modric.

According to former Real Madrid forward, Predrag Mijatovic, Messi is keen on the possibility of linking up with the Croatian at the US-based club.

"He [Modric] has received offers from the United States, from many teams and from this one in particular," Mijatovic told Spanish radio station, Cadena SER.
"Messi himself has personally been interested in the possibility. In Croatia, a few days ago, Modric met [Inter Miami owner, David] Beckham, where they were eating," he added.

Modric, who won the Ballon d'Or award in 2018, has also been linked with a possible move to Saudi Arabia where former Los Blancos star, Cristiano Ronaldo plies his trade.

Ronaldo lauds Messi among greatest

Earlier, Sports Brief also reported that in a controversial interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo hailed Messi and Zinedine Zidane as two of the greatest he had ever witnessed.

The bombshell sit-down, which contributed to the Portuguese veteran's bitter split from Manchester United, also included a number of fascinating comments from the legend.

After a tumultuous second spell with the Red Devils, Ronaldo took charge of the new Saudi Arabian drive, headlining a growing list of high-profile stars heading to the Middle East.
