It has emerged that Martin Odegaard may have convinced Gabriel Jesus to allow Kai Havertz to take Arsenal's second penalty against Bournemouth for the German to get his first goal for Arsenal.

According to BBC, the match saw Havertz finally score his first goal for Arsenal since his sensational summer move to the club from Chelsea.

The former Bayer Leverkusen ace was yet to open his goal account for his new club, with his worrying run of form earning him criticism from fans.

However, that came to an end at the Vitality Stadium, with the former Chelsea star finally getting his much-needed goal for his new side.

Bukayo Saka opened the scoring for Arsenal in the 17th minute before Odegaard doubled the advantage from the penalty spot on the stroke of the first half.

The Gunners won another penalty shortly after the break, with Sportbible reporting that Jesus was in line to take it.

However, Havertz was allowed to take it instead, with a video doing rounds on social media showing Odegaard trying to convince Jesus to allow the summer arrival to step up.

Havertz went on to fire the ball into the back of the net for his first goal for the north Londoners to make it 3-0.

Ben White took the game beyond the hosts at the death as he scored his side's fourth goal.
