Real Madrid fans have witnessed a surprise shift of the club's transfer policies under President Florentino Perez in recent years.

The La Liga giant which was synonymous with the transfers of marquee players dubbed as 'Galacticos' have in recent year shifted its transfer focus to the acquisition of football prodigy in recent times.

However, the relatively surprising switch of the La Liga club has paid dividends, given a host of its young signings from previous seasons, including Vinicius jr and Rodrygo Goes, have developed into household names in European football.

Amongst the numerous youngsters the club have recently courted is Bayern Munich's forward Mathys Tel.

The French forward who signed for the Bundesliga giants from Ligue 1 club Rennes in the summer of 2022, has been nothing short of a revelation for Thomas Tuchel's side.

Tel who holds the record as Bayern Munich's youngest Bundesliga goal scorer according to data provided by Fotmob, was courted by Los Blancos earlier in 2022, and the French man has revealed his reason for turning down a move to the Spanish capital.

Mathys Tel speaks on rejecting Real Madrid

The French U19 International recently sat in an interview with Spanish outlet Diario AS, where he revealed his reason for rejecting the La Liga club.

"Real Madrid or Bayern? It's true that many clubs wanted me in 2022. It is very true, but I was only focused on Bayern. I didn't have another choice because I appreciated their project and the people behind the project."

Tel is not the only current Bayern Munich forward Real Madrid missed out on following recent reports from The Athletic of the club having its bid for English striker Harry Kane being rejected.

Sports Brief earlier reported on how Harry Kane made Bayern history after his hat-trick against VfL Bochum in a 7-0 win.

Kane became the first player in Bayern history to score seven goals in the first five league appearances.

Gerd Müller (1965), Miroslav Klose (2007) and Mario Mandžukić (2012) scored five goals in the first five league games.
