FootballJose Mourinho: Roma Fans Chant Against Manager and Players After Genoa Loss
- AS Roma's season has gone from bad to worse after their embarrassing 4-1 loss to Genoa last night
- Jose Mourinho's team have picked up just five points from their opening six games
- The travelling fans could not hide their frustration at the manager and players
Things are not going well for Jose Mourinho at AS Roma and could get worse if the fans turn against him after their reaction to yesterday's embarrassing defeat.
Roma were handed a sound 4-1 defeat by Genoa in one of the team's worst performances so far this season, despite fielding a strong XI, which included returning captain Lorenzo Pellegrini.
The first half appeared to be ending in a 1-1 draw, but Roma conceded with almost the last kick of the half and went into the break 2-1 down, needing a big reaction in the second half.
They turned up for the second 45 minutes worse and conceded two more goals, to sum up a woeful night, where all Genoa's shots on target led to a goal, as noted by Livescore.
Fans chant against Mourinho and players
The Special One cut a frustrated figure on the bench for most of the second half, utterly embarrassed by his team's performance, particularly with goalkeeper Rui Patricio.
As is the custom, he led the players to approach the away end and applaud the travelling fans who had travelled over 500 kilometres to watch a shambolic display.
According to La Roma 24, the fans were having none of their applause and chanted back at them.
“Show us respect. Show some balls. Enough of this,” the fans chanted.
Giallorossi have five points from six games, two points above the Serie A relegation zone. It is the worst start to a league season in Mourinho's career.

FootballAfter the game, the former Chelsea boss was lost for words and claimed that he said nothing to the players in the dressing room.
Mourinho's comment on Europa League final
Sports Brief reported on Jose Mourinho's audacious claim about last season's Europa League final as his team regrouped for another attempt to win the competition.
Roma lost the final under controversial conditions to Sevilla in Budapest last season, and the Special One insists his team did not lose the game and he'd continue to hold on to that claim.
