Kylian Mbappe recently lauded his teammate and friend, Achraf Hakimi after he scored a stunning free-kick for Paris Saint-Germain in the Classique Derby last weekend.

Hakimi played a major role in PSG's emphatic 4-0 win over their bitter rivals Olympique Marseille. The two footballers are close friends and have been seen before sharing wholesome moments and secret handshakes.

Mbappe was on the pitch for 32 minutes before he sustained an injury. PSG were leading 1-0 at that point, and even without the French superstar, Luis Enrique's side were rampant. New signing Goncalo Ramos came on and scored twice. Randal Kolo Muani also scored his first goal for PSG.

However, the moment of the match came in the 8th minute. Hakimi stepped up to take the free-kick after Mbappe was fouled. The Morrocan star unleashed an unstoppable shot into the top corner to give PSG the lead.

They did not look back. The defender received rave reviews after the match from fans on social media.

Mbappe lauds Hakimi

After the match, Mbapppe took to social media to congratulate Hakimi for his superb free-kick.

"The best right back in the world you know," Mbappe wrote on Instagram, via Ligue 1.

That is high praise from arguably the best player in the world. Hakimi has a good case for being considered the best right back in the world.

A few months ago, ESPN ranked Hakimi as the best right back in the world, beating the likes of Kyle Walker, Kieran Trippier, Reece James, and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Hakimi may not have the most eye-catching stats, but his contributions to club and country are incredible. He played a key role for Morocco in the 2022 World Cup.

Mbappe's message to Hakimi

Sports Brief earlier reported on Mbappe sending a heartfelt message to Hakimi after France eliminated Morocco from the 2022 World Cup.

"Don’t be sad bro, everybody is proud of what you did, you made history.❤️"

Mbappe consoled his friend and club teammate after the match and even exchanged jerseys in a heartwarming moment.
