  • Al-Nassr have been ranked among the most popular football clubs alongside Real Madrid
  • Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane's influence has paid off for the Saudi Arabian club
  • The Knights of Najd are ahead of European giants in the latest rankings

Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr have benefited heavily from Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane's influence, as they were ranked among the top five most popular football clubs on Instagram in August 2023.

The Knights of Najd are one of the clubs in the Saudi league that invested in bringing top players to the Middle East nation.

The decision to sign top players all around the world has paid off for the Saudi Arabians, as they have become more popular on social media.

Ronaldo joined the club in 2022 after his issues with Manchester United, while Mane joined them in the summer from German Bundesliga side Bayern Munich, according to Eurosport.

The addition of both players to the club ranks has boosted their social media presence and interactions.

The Real Madrid legend is known for having a big fanbase globally, while the Senegal international is a popular entity in Africa.

The Saudi Pro League side finished third on the list of popular clubs on Instagram in August, according to Deportes&Finanzas.

The ranking was based on total interactions within the particular stated month.

The Knights of Najd amassed a whopping sum of 157 million interactions during that period, and they were only bettered by European giants Real Madrid and Turkish side Galatasaray.

Al-Nassr were ranked above fourth-placed Barcelona with over nine million interactions.

Lionel Messi's move to Inter Miami couldn't get them past the Saudi Arabians, as the MLS side is ranked fifth on the log.

  1. Real Madrid: 190 million
  2. Galatasaray: 167 million
  3. Al-Nassr: 157 million
  4. Barcelona: 148 million
  5. Inter Miami: 130 million

Al-Nassr ahead of Messi’s Inter Miami

Sports Brief earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo’s Saudi Arabian side, Al-Nassr, are seen as 'way ahead' of Major League Soccer outfit, Inter Miami, according to the latest World Club Rankings.

Despite starting the new Saudi Pro League season on the back foot, Al-Nassr are ranked ahead of Inter Miami.
