Joao Felix is enjoying a good spell with Barcelona this season, but the Portugal superstar could have been playing for Manchester United or Manchester City, it has emerged.
The 24-year-old forward was offered to several clubs by Atletico Madrid following the completion of his loan spell with Chelsea last season as Felix was determined to force his exit from the La Liga club.
According to GOAL, former Portugal and Atletico Madrid winger Paulo Futre claims that Felix was offered to both Manchester clubs before he joined Barcelona on transfer deadline day.
“He told me that he had spoken to Manchester United. I verified what he told me because I have friends and it was true. Later he had spoken with Manchester City, I also checked, and they didn’t want João either.”
Felix has hit the ground running at Barcelona as the 23-year-old forward has scored three goals and created two assists in his first four appearances for the Catalans since his deadline-day transfer.

Meanwhile, Xavi is delighted with how fast Felix has adapted to the Barcelona system following his transfer, Eurosport reports.
