Nonetheless, recent comments from La Liga president, Javier Tebas about the highly-rated Frenchman could no doubt renew hope for fans of Los Blancos.

Tebas rates chances of Mbappe joining Real Madrid

The 61-year-old league president was recently interviewed by Movistar+ and was asked about the chances of Mbappe moving to Spain.

He said as quoted by Sport:

"Convinced, no, but it is a destiny for him, for sure. I think he will be in the La Liga next season at 70 or 80 percent."

Tebas further highlighted the character Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez possesses when he sets his sights on achieving something:

"Florentino never loses. He doesn't lose at anything."

The La Liga chief's comments coincide with the recent words of transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, who recently stated Real Madrid has a 'huge chance' of signing the PSG star.

It remains to be seen how events will unfold, considering Mbappe is free to negotiate with other clubs as early as January. However, the possibility of him signing another deal with the French giants cannot be written off either.

Mbappe equals Ronaldo, Messi's record

Sports Brief also reported on Mbappe joining an exclusive list of players following his brace against Ligue 1 contenders, OGC Nice.

The French forward has maintained an active involvement in scoring or assisting in goals for PSG over 15 consecutive matches.

This feat, since extended during the Champions League, places Mbappe in the company of players like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
