The 2023/24 Saudi Pro League is up and running, and after a big summer, it has been entertaining with a lot of twists and turns and drama.
The star attractions this season are Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Karim Benzema, Sadio Mane, Riyad Mahrez and other stars who joined from European clubs.
We've seen plenty of goals and incredible matches, meaning the race for the Golden Boot is heating up with popular names vying for the top spot.
After seven games, Benzema's Al-Ittihad are top of the table with 18 points, Neymar's Al-Hilal are second with 17, Al-Taawoun are tied on 16 points with Al-Ettifaq, while Ronaldo's Al-Nassr and Mahrez's Al-Ahli both have 15 points.
The goalscoring charts are even more compelling. Sports Brief looks at the top scorers in the Saudi Pro League this season, per Transfermarkt.

10. Odion Ighalo - Al-Wehda -5 goals
The former Manchester United striker won the SPL Golden Boot in the 2021/22 season. The Nigerian has scored five goals in five games this season. Last season he scored 19 goals for Al-Hilal in the 2022/23 season.
9. Firas Al-Buraikan – Al-Ahli - 5 goals
The 23-year-old has played in the SPL his entire career. He has played for AL-Nassr and Al-Fateh but now plays alongside the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Allan Saint-Maximin and Roberto Firmino.
8. Abderrazak Hamdallah – Al-Ittihad - 5 goals
Hamdallah has been scoring goals for fun in the SPL in the last few seasons. He has 115 goals in the SPL, the third highest in the league history and is outscoring Benzema this season. He has won the SPL Golden Boot three times and looks like the man to beat again this season.

Football7. Aleksandar Mitrovic – Al-Hilal - 5 goals
Mitrovic is enjoying a great start in his first season in the SPL. The Serbian bagged 14 goals in the Premier League last season, and he will be playing alongside Neymar and Ruben Neves this season. If everything clicks, Mitrovic could have a great goalscoring season.
6. Mourad Batna – Al-Fateh 5 goals
The Moroccan winger has been playing in the SPL since 2020 and is closing in on 100 appearances for Al-Fateh. His side are 8th in the table with 11 points.
5. Sadio Mane - Al-Nassr - 6 goals
The former Liverpool and Bayern Munich star has made a great start in Saudi Arabia. He won the Premier League Golden Boot in the 2018/2019 season. Playing alongside Ronaldo will give Mane a chance to score more goals and help Al-Nassr win the league title.
4. Moussa Dembele - Al-Ettifaq - 6 goals

FootballDembele has scored 6 goals in six appearances for Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq. His side have beaten Ronaldo's Al-Nassr this season and will be looking to challenge the big four sides. They are fourth on the table ahead of Al-Nassr and Al-Ahli.
3. Salem Al-Dawsari - Al-Hilal - 6 goals
Al-Dawsari is one of Saudi Arabia's greatest-ever players. he has started the season well, and things can only get better since he's playing alongside Neymar and Malcom. He has made 364 appearances for Al-Hilal and scored 88 goals. He's also won the SPL five times.
2. Malcom - Al-Hilal- 6 goals
The Brazilian is one of the most expensive players in the Saudi Pro League. So far, he's living up to the price tag and is building a bromance with Neymar. The 26-year-old spent four years at Zenit St. Petersburg in Russia before securing a €60 million move to Al-Hilal in the summer.

Ronaldo is loving life in the SPL this season, with nine goals from six appearances. He scored 14 goals in 16 appearances. At 38, these numbers are phenomenal. Can he win the Golden Boot this time around?

Sports Brief also reported on Ronaldo showcasing his appreciation for Saudi culture by performing a traditional dance after scoring two goals for Al-Nassr in their Saudi Pro League match against Al-Shabab.
The Portuguese veteran and club captain, who has been in excellent goal-scoring form since the start of the new season, played a pivotal role in the Knights of Najd's dominant win at home at Al-Awwal Park.
Following his penalty, Ronaldo momentarily set aside his signature 'Siuuu' celebration and other newer styles in favour of showcasing Saudi Arabian culture by displaying his dancing skills.
