The forward suffered a blow to his ankle and spent a moment receiving treatment on the sidelines. Mbappe would eventually join his teammates on the field but only for a moment as in the 32nd minute of the game, he signalled to the bench to be substituted.

The injury to Mbappe undoubtedly left many fans and officials of the club with concern given the forward's prominence and undisputed importance in the club's setup under new coach coach Luis Enrique.

Luis Enrique speaks on Mbappe's injury

Following the conclusion of the game, the 53-year-old gaffer was quizzed about the injury of the marquee forward.

As quoted by PSG Report, he said:

"It's not serious, but there was pain. I think it was smarter to go out (subbed off). It's a blow, he's fine."

The French champions would wrap up an emphatic 4-0 win on the night courtesy of a second-half brace from Mbappe's substitute on the night Goncalo Ramos.

The brace from the Portuguese forward who recently completed his transfer to the French club, brought to an end his barren spell in front of goal as reported by Goal.

Mbappe equals Ronaldo, Messi's record

In a previous report, Sports Brief stated that Kylian Mbappe has joined an exclusive list with his brace against Ligue 1 contenders OGC Nice.

Mbappe maintained an active involvement in scoring or assisting in goals for PSG over 15 consecutive matches, a feat reported by SportBible. This achievement places Mbappe in the company of players like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
