Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry, Harry Kane, and Mathys Tel scored for the Bavarians, while Rasmus Hojlund and a brace from Casemiro were not enough for Erik ten Hag's charges to pick up a point.

On Onana's part, he was utterly dejected after his howler put his team behind in the first half.

The former Inter Milan keeper fumbled a lacklustre effort from Sane in the 28th minute and copped a lot of criticism after the game, particularly via social media.

After the final whistle, Man United players ignored the heartbroken Onana and headed straight into the tunnel, while Bayern players, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui consoled him, according to Forbes.

De Ligt was the first to console Onana. The Dutchman rushed to the pitch to embrace the Red Devils' summer signing after his bad night.

Bayern defender, Mazraoui was on the bench for the entire 90 minutes but that did not stop him from consoling his former teammate at Ajax.

The Moroccan full-back embraced the 27-year-old and appeared to give him a few words of encouragement.

Sports Brief also reported on Rio Ferdinand firing a warning to Onana after the goalkeeper's costly mistake against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.
