  • A picture of Erling Haaland with basketball star Mamadou Ndiaye went viral
  • Manchester City players Ederson and Bernardo Silva also were in the photo
  • Fans had funny reactions to the photo with some comparing Haaland to Messi

Erling Haaland is used to towering over other people on the football field.

It was the other way around for the Norwegian striker last Saturday after a former NBA prospect paid a visit to Manchester City’s dressing room following their win over West Ham United.

A photo has gone viral of Haaland looking like a child while standing alongside Mamadou Ndiaye.

Ndiaye towers over Man City players

Haaland wasn’t the only City player to look small in the now-viral snap.

Goalkeeper, Ederson and midfielder, Bernardo Silva were all smiles as they took a picture with the Senegalese basketball star.

Ndiaye is a giant, standing at 7 feet and 6 inches (2.29m) tall. He is more than a foot taller than Haaland, who stands at 6ft 4in (1.94m).

Ederson and Silva stand at 1.88m and 1.73m tall, respectively.

Haaland draws funny Messi comparison

Fans took to social media to react to the funny photo. One of them said that Ndiaye 'made Haaland look like Messi'.

Another account said that Haaland was made to look like 5ft 8in.

Alvarez stars in City win

Manchester City began their Champions League title defence with a victory on Tuesday, recording a come-from-behind 3-1 win over Red Star Belgrade at the Etihad Stadium.

Julian Alvarez scored twice and Rodri netted the other goal for City, who remain perfect in the Premier League and Champions League this season.

The victory came at a huge price, however, for the treble winners, as Bernardo suffered an injury in the first half.

The Portuguese star was forced off in the 44th minute and was replaced by Jeremy Doku at the stroke of half-time.

Injury bug strikes City again

Sports Brief reported that Bernardo Silva will be out for the next few weeks because of an unspecified injury.

Pep Guardiola claimed Manchester City are in trouble, with his team ravaged by injuries to start their season.

Silva joins City teammates Mateo Kovacic, Jack Grealish, John Stones, and Kevin de Bruyne on the sidelines.
